About Showpad Apps

||

Showpad Apps are custom applications you build to extend the Showpad platform. Create calculators, configurators, interactive presentations, or custom content viewers, all while keeping Showpad sharing, tracking, and permission capabilities intact.

Apps are compatible with all Showpad clients: iOS, Android, Windows, and Web.

Where Do Apps Run?

Showpad Apps run within the Showpad ecosystem. Where they run depends on the type of extension you build:

  • Experience Types - run inside the Showpad mobile and web apps, displayed to sellers and buyers
  • Admin Settings - appear in the Admin App for administrators to configure
  • User Settings - show up in a user's settings
  • Content Actions - appear on assets and content items
  • Shared Spaces - add functionality to collaborative spaces

Key Features

  • Standard web technologies - build with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Fully integrated - not a standalone web app, but part of the Showpad experience
  • Multi-org deployment - assign apps to one or more Showpad organizations
  • Version control - simple installation and updates via API
  • Ecosystem ready - apps can be published to the Showpad Ecosystem

Extension Types

A Showpad App is made up of one or more extensions. Each extension type serves a different purpose:

ExtensionDescription
Experience TypeCustom content viewers and interactive presentations
Admin SettingsConfiguration panels for administrators
User SettingsPersonalization options for users
Shared SpaceQuick Actions in collaborative Shared Spaces
Asset ViewerAugment assets within the Asset Viewer
Add ContentEnable users to add content to a context

You're in Control

As the app creator, you control:

  • What content is available
  • What functions the app performs
  • The look and feel
  • Who can install and configure it

When your app is ready, assign it to one or more organizations. Administrators can then install it, configure it within the limits you define, and publish it to their users.
